Our Little Climber
Newest excitement: CLIMBING.
Elliot can climb up onto the sofa (with the seat cushion off) then up onto the higher part of the sofa, giggling hysterically the whole time. I have since replaced the seat cushion to keep him off, because he tended to climb up as high as possible and I caught him teetering on the edge twice.
He climbed into the bottom basket part of our kitchen "island," dispersing all the other things in the basket. It's too short for him to sit upright, so he was stuck until I rescued him.
Today he climbed into the cabinet where I'd put all the plastic containers for him to play with. When I closed the door with him inside, he thought that was funny.
He climbs up onto the futon easily and immediately makes a beeline for all the things he's not supposed to get into.
He used his little toddler rocking chair as a stool to reach the off-limits printer paper. That has since been moved.

Food Frustrations
I don't know how to feed my baby real food. He refuses so much of what I offer. He won't pick up anything in pieces unless it's a dry bread product (cheerios, bread, toast, bagel, cracker, baby puffs). Won't pick up fruit, cooked veggies, tofu, beans, cheese, egg, pasta. Gags on banana.
He'll eat some pureed things (as long as there are no lumps) from a spoon I offer, like lentils, hummus, veggies, fruit, and occasionally yogurt with fruit. And does actually seem to like meat pureed with things. But he prefers food from jars over anything I make. I don't want to buy baby food, I want to make it.
Spits out (with a "are you trying to poison me?!" look on his face) egg, cheese (both melted and not, many different types), fruit and veggie pieces, pasta.
All of this made more frustrating by the fact that ALL of his friends eat really well, anything that their moms offer them, and pick up and try lots of different finger foods.
He really only wants milk. but my supply is going down. Looks like I'll have to buy formula. Maybe lots of it.
Arrrggh.
