Elliot doesn't eat very much at all, and this past week and a half has been particularly scant. There were at least 3 nights when he ate no dinner at all, and sometimes little lunch and no snacks either. He's not sick (though has a slight runny nose, but nothing big), and is his normal happy active self (mostly).
He does almost always eat a big breakfast (and gets most of his daily calories at that one meal), which is usually the same: 1-2 eggs, scrambled with cheese and spinach or broccoli, and sometimes a few bites of yogurt or cereal or bread. And he drinks 2-3 cups of milk a day.
But the lack of food the rest of the day is concerning to me. He won't eat any fruit (except applesauce and raisins) or vegetables (except hidden in the morning eggs). Only occasionally eats cheese. And spits out the gummy multi-vitamins I've just started to try to give him. He started refusing the veggie baby food goop that he's always eaten (though I can't blame him, it's pretty disgusting).
What he DOES eat (sometimes): bread, crackers, peanut butter sandwich, raisins, applesauce, egg, pasta (plain, or occasionally with a tiny bit of sauce or parm cheese), sandwich turkey, granola bars, nuts and seeds.
So we are counting his calories for the week (using an app on the ipad). Guessing he needs about 1000cal/day based on AAP guidelines. Today he had 850. Data for the doctor.
Maybe this is just a phase? I hope so, he doesn't have a lot of extra bulk to lose.
